The Joy of Creative Ageing – Why Crafts Matter for Our Elders
This Saturday in Abingdon, our school is proud to join Age UK Oxfordshire’s Healthfest – a wonderful event celebrating the power of creativity and connection for older people.
Too often, elders can feel isolated or disconnected. Activities like crafts, music, or dance are not just hobbies – they are lifelines. Using our hands to make something new brings a sense of achievement and pride. Sharing these moments in a friendly space opens the door to conversation, laughter, and friendship.
Creative ageing is about much more than making beautiful things. It helps people stay active, engaged, and confident. Every stitch, brushstroke, or folded piece of paper tells a story – and reminds us that we all have something valuable to share.
We look forward to celebrating creativity together this weekend, helping elders discover new joys, connect with others, and continue to shine.
