The Muse Creative Holiday Afternoons
2 DAYS Sessions
Service Description
Six afternoons of making, building and imagining. # Small groups. Real materials. Big imagination. Join us this summer for six creative afternoons designed for children who love to make things. At The Muse, we believe creativity grows through making. Using simple materials such as cardboard, paper, paint, natural objects and recycled materials, children are guided through inspiring projects while being encouraged to bring their own ideas to life. These are not step-by-step craft sessions. Each activity is carefully guided by a professional artist, while leaving space for imagination, creative decisions and personal expression. Over six afternoons, children will explore painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, printing and construction techniques while creating artworks they can be proud of. # Dates ### Week 1 20, 21 & 22 July ### Week 2 27, 28 & 29 July **Time: 12:30pm – 4:00pm **Location: Unit 25, Bury Street Abingdon OX14 3QT (near Cancer Research UK) --- What We'll Be Making ### Day 1 – Butterflies & Blooming Gardens Spring flower painting using bubble-wrap printing and the creation of a decorative cardboard vase. ### Day 2 – Forest Explorers Build a character from sticks and found materials, then create an imaginative woodland painting. ### Day 3 – Eastern Garden Create an oriental-inspired pond artwork using mixed media and collage techniques. ### Day 4 – Cats & Fish Explore printing techniques and design a colourful decorative fish sculpture. ### Day 5 – Curious Creatures Experiment with drawing transfer techniques and create a collection of colourful paper insects. ### Day 6 – Tiny Houses Create a watercolour and pastel artwork before designing and building your own imaginative cardboard house. --- Suitable for children aged 5–11.
